At the center of the Acorn Invitational, you will always find an incredible charity that we are honored to support. We make it a point to partner with a local charities or chapters that focus on children in hopes of making their life just a little better. While we are obsessed with the golf part, we are equally as excited to give back and hopefully make a small difference within the local community.
The Cure Starts Now
The Cure Starts Now Cancer Research Foundation (501c3 Federal Non-Profit) is one of the only cancer foundations dedicated to a “homerun” cure for all cancers, starting first with one of the most deadly and difficult cancers: pediatric brain cancer.
Formed in 2012, The MA/RI chapter of The Cure Starts Now honors the memory of Nicole Mackintosh. Nicole was a bright, graceful, and beautiful girl diagnosed with brain cancer (DIPG) at the age of 7. She fought a courageous battle for 19 months, earning her wings on August 30, 2011. Even during her illness, Nicole spent much of her time performing community service. She genuinely loved to help people. We know she would approve of our efforts to find a cure for those children who will someday be diagnosed with pediatric brain cancer.
For the third year in a row, the Acorn Invitational is proud to support The Cure Starts Now, MA/RI Chapter. To date, the Acorn has donated over $30,400.00 to The Cure Starts Now!
